A carrier you pull rather than carry.
A cat and a carrier together come to around eight kilos, and eight kilos is fine for thirty seconds and unpleasant for ten minutes — across a vet car park, down a platform, through a hospital corridor. This one rolls. Four dual swivel casters take the weight and an aluminium handle telescopes to 97cm, so you are walking upright rather than stooping. When you hit stairs or gravel, the backpack straps take over.
The body is 32cm wide, 26cm deep and 49cm tall, in cloth with mesh panels across the front and one side for airflow. It opens from the top as well as the front, which is the difference between placing a reluctant cat inside and negotiating with one. There is a zipped pocket on the front and a bottle pocket on the side. Folded it packs down to 37 × 52cm and lives in a cupboard.
A note on flights, because most carrier listings are misleading about this. Virgin Australia is currently the only Australian airline that carries pets in the cabin, on selected routes, and it requires a soft-sided carrier no larger than 44 × 26 × 28cm. At 49cm tall on a wheeled base, this carrier does not meet that limit and is not cabin-eligible. It is built for the ground: vet visits, car travel, moving house, and getting from the car to the door without carrying anything.
Nothing here overrides your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the carrier has a major fault, you choose a refund or a replacement.
